I have excellent communication skills in both French and English. QUALIFICATIONS • Earned a swim and lifeguard instructor certificate from the Red Cross in 2007. • I am hardworking and dedicated to any position relating to teaching children, water sports and being a swim instructor. • I have been a swim instructor for several consecutive summer sessions at the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Center (SCRC) summer camp program. • I taught beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmers ages 6 to 12. • I have good communication, cooperation and “team spirit” skills as I worked with a team of swim instructors all summer, and understand the value of working together with others. • I was also on the Berkeley High swim team for four years and co captain of the Berkeley High water polo team under coach Bill Gabler. • I am currently studying at the University of British Columbia, getting my Bachelor of Arts, and planning on double majoring in Fine Arts as well as a Psychology. Taking responsibility for their needs and keeping them entertained and happy yet safe, protected and well looked after. 2007 Swim instructor at UC Berkeley Cal Recreational Sports Summer Camp Berkeley, CA • Teaching children of all ages and levels how to swim. Safety, techniques, evaluation. • Developing skills as an instructor on discovering efficient methods to best suit different children personalities and different levels of swimming. • Communicating with children of all ages. Being a team member and work with staff, other instructors to find best approach to teach children in being confident and skilled swimmers. • Communicating with parents and making sure their expectations and needs were met regarding the goals of the program and their childrens' progress. • Being responsible, timely and available for my students and the rest of the SCRC staff. • Through all of my past job experiences I have learned the importance of communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds. I have learned the importance of patience and listening, and most of all the importance of communicating with other staff members to have strong, coherent ideas and goals within a group.
